We are all happy and well. Both girls are in school full-time (Millie started in September) and loving it. They also enjoy dance lessons and swim class. I know it’s a cliché, but they really are growing up so fast. They are full of personality, love to share their latest projects and ideas, can spend hours making up imaginary worlds with their dolls/ animals/ miscellaneous plastic stuff and they are a joy to us.
Gareth and Kat are both head-spinningly busy, & (most of the time) are thoroughly enjoying life. Gareth is still working at Synectics as a software engineer, with some exciting new responsibilities on the horizon.
Also, as many of you will be all too familiar from Facebook, Gareth has started doing some mega mountain bike rides regularly and loves to come home covered in mud and bruises with a fantastic story to tell of the latest ride.
He’s also leading and playing guitar in the church worship band and leading youth group regularly.
Kat continues to have an inability to say no whenever someone asks her to take on another role, but is happily pursuing part-time work (church administrator) plus church warden, school governor, toddler group leader, chair of the new community group… I’ll stop before I bore you. The fiction writing has (temporarily!) been set aside, but the running continues, with the hope of completing a 10K this year.
We’ve had some great time out as a family this year- a weekend at Center Parcs and camping in France with Gareth’s parents, our annual four week trip to Michigan over the summer and a long weekend camping at Grapevine with church family.

We also became “friends” of Chatsworth in the spring and have really enjoyed spending time exploring the magnificent estate’s garden and farmyard. We are hoping to return to France this year (but venture much further south) and spend time with family and friends in Michigan in July, with a side trip to Florida (Gareth’s & the girls’ first time at Disney) in August, then back to Grapevine.
We feel incredibly blessed in our health, happiness, family, friends and busy happy lives. We hope this letter finds you happy and well and enjoying life too!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
